The 1D singer is “poised to sign up” as the next X Factor judge according to a new report.
The Mirror claim Louis, who found fame on the ITV singing competition with One Direction in 2010, is going to be joining Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Simon Cowell on the panel.
After Louis Walsh departed, it was revealed how Robbie was preparing to appear on the panel with Ayda.
Simon is now reported to be keen to add Louis to the line-up, with an insider saying: “Simon hopes the deal will be done in the next few days.”
Louis proved a hit with fans of The X Factor when he appeared alongside Simon at the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition in 2015.
He also took on guest role on America’s Got Talent in 2016.
Earlier this week Robbie confirmed he’d had meetings with Simon about the job.
He explained: “If there is an X Factor in my future, whether it be this year or next year, I’m scared for my own safety and health — not because of the people out there or the public or Twitter or Instagram, but my wife.
“She’s an A-plus grade student from Beverly Hills, incredibly square, and is like ‘why would you do that?’
“And I’m from Stoke. She is supposed to be doing it with me. People say that every year, we always say no comment.
"There’s a lot of me that would love to do it too.”
Robbie added: “Nothing’s signed but watch this space.”
