Tom Daley has tweeted a picture of his marriage to "the love of my life" Dustin Lance Black.

The diver and fitness expert tied the knot on Saturday, just two days after tweeting a picture of himself in a hospital bed.

The wedding picture showed him walking hand-in-hand up the aisle with his new husband, an Oscar-winning filmmaker and activist from the US.

Daley said: "05.06.17 the day I married the love of my life shared with 120 of our closest family and friends from Texarkana to Plymouth!"

Black also tweeted a picture, which showed the pair holding hands on a stone bridge, and joked: "So... what did you do this weekend?"

The ceremony took place at Bovey Castle, a lavish golf resort in Dartmoor national park.

Daley, 22, is reported to have recreated the balcony scene from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, calling Black, who is 42, his Romeo.

The pictures were taken by photographer Andy Mac, who posted on Instagram: "Tom Daley and Lance Black - Thank you for choosing and trusting my team and I to photograph and film your incredibly gorgeous and beautifully emotional wedding at Bovey Castle on Saturday. Wishing you both every happiness."

On Thursday, fans were left concerned after a picture appeared on Daley's Twitter feed of the diver in a hospital bed, raising a mug while lying in a hospital gown.

The Olympic medallist wrote: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. #AtheleteLife. Back on the board soon."

His engagement to Black was formally announced in the pages of The Times in October 2015.

Black subsequently told podcast host Matt Baume: "I said it on the Oscars stage - one day I hope to get married. I never dreamed that in that time I would meet somebody and fall in love and get engaged.

"I met someone who completely gets me, thinks some of my thoughts are really funny and is completely annoyed about others and I feel the same about him. I definitely know that we are better for having each other."
