Jungle Queen Scarlett Moffatt

Gogglebox star beats Joel Dommett to be named Queen of the Jungle

Scarlett Moffatt has been crowned the Queen Of The Jungle after winning I’m A Celebrity 2016.

The Gogglebox star beat Joel Dommett to the top spot, while Adam Thomas came in third place.

Breaking down in tears after the news was announced, Scarlett said: “I’m dizzy, I can’t believe it. Oh my god.  Never did I ever think this would happen ever!”

Speaking about the experience prior to the winner being announced, Scarlett told Ant and Dec: “It has been better than I could have imagined, and I have imagined it a lot.”

She continued: “It was a a massive learning curve. I feel like I need to have more confidence in myself. I feel like a much more confident person walking out of her. I didn’t expect to have any clichés in her.”

And expressing her surprise at being kept in for so long, she said: “When I first walked on I felt like I had snuck in the back door.  I thought I would be first to leave because people would think I am just a northern girl who watches the telly.”

On tonight's show viewers watched as the final three took part in an individual trial to win a course for dinner for each of them, plus a treat and a drink for themselves.

Scarlett was faced with the daunting Cavern of Claw - which saw her go into the cavern and lie on her back as the cavern was sealed up.

She then had five minutes to find the fives stars while facing her biggest fear - small space.

Understandably she broke down in tears as she tried to hold it together, while she was joined by various creepy crawlies.

Throughout her stint in the jungle, Scarlett was the bookies favourite to win.

Already a hit with the viewing public, she cemented her place as a telly favourite thanks to her upbeat personality and reaction during tasks.

Things got off to an amusing start for her on the ITV after she had to be rescued by Larry Lamb on their first task.

The star pair were picked to do the ‘Saviours’ Challenge’ by their fellow campmates, which involved crossing a lake in a canoe to get to their jungle camp.

Scarlett's canoe sank mid-way through the trip prompting Larry to do his best Baywatch impression and swim out to rescue her.
