Niall Horan confirms second single

The Irish One Direction star posted the new artwork for the release on Twitter to make the announcement

The single will be called ‘Slow Hands’.

Fans won’t have to wait long for the new single to drop – as the release will come out THIS Thursday.

Alongside the picture of his single cover, he wrote: “I know you’ve been waiting and I’m delighted to announce my new single ‘Slow Hands’ will be out 4th May ! can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

Niall has been posting videos of himself inside the recording studio as he lays down his debut solo album – and has been teasing fans with tiny clips on Snapchat.

The 23-year-old had previously released his debut single This Town after he signed a record deal with Capitol US, a branch of Universal, in September 2016 – controversially deciding NOT to go with 1D manager Simon Cowell’s Syco label.

It reached number nine in the official UK charts.

He has since revealed that he has been working with well-known songwriter Wayne Hector for the album.

The star has also alluded to collaborations with Adele’s songwriter Greg Kurstin and pop singer Shawn Mendes.

Niall has been working on his solo material after One Direction went on a hiatus two years ago.

Since then, nearly all of them have released their own work and have explored different musical directions – with Louis Tomlinson’s Just Hold On being a dance number, while Harry Styles‘ released rock ballad Sign of the Times.

Harry – who will also make his movie debut in upcoming blockbuster Dunkirk – was so successful in his single release that he knocked Ed Sheeran off the number one spot after fourteen weeks.

Meanwhile, Liam Payne is the only member of One Direction yet to release his solo material - and has been working in Los Angeles to put the finishing touches to his new work.

However, the 23-year-old has had his hands full after becoming a father for the first time to a baby boy named Bear with his other half, Cheryl.
